Blyss Rees

Associate

Blyss Rees is an associate in the Washington, D.C., office of Lex Politica, where she advises clients on election law, First Amendment issues, political litigation, and regulatory compliance. Before joining the firm as an associate, Blyss spent two summers as a law clerk at Lex Politica, gaining valuable experience working on litigation matters in federal court and Texas state election-law cases. That experience gave her firsthand insight into the legal issues shaping the electoral process and deepened her interest in helping clients navigate complex litigation and regulatory challenges in an ever-changing political landscape.

Blyss earned her J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law, where she served on the Texas A&M Journal of Law and Civil Governance. Her scholarship focused on public policy, including her article, When Seconds Count and Help Is Far: A Case for the Texas School Marshal Program in Rural Texas. During law school, Blyss gained significant experience in election law, political litigation, and public policy. She served as a law clerk for the Republican National Committee in Washington, D.C., where her work included election-integrity research, litigation matters, and regulatory issues.

That experience strengthened her interest in election law and reinforced her understanding of the importance of protecting the integrity, security, and fairness of the electoral process. Before law school, Blyss gained experience in Washington through her work on Capitol Hill. Together, these experiences shaped her commitment to helping clients navigate the legal and regulatory issues that influence the political process.
