Coy Allen Westbrook is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Lex Politica. He brings experience across state and federal appellate courts, the Texas House of Representatives, the Texas Office of the Solicitor General, and the United States Senate Judiciary Committee.

Before joining the firm, Coy served as Senior Counsel to Senator Mike Lee, advising the Senator on Executive Branch and judicial nominations, constitutional law, Second Amendment law, election law, immigration law, criminal justice, and national security. He previously was a Coleman Fellow in the Texas Office of the Solicitor General, where he authored, co-authored, and assisted with briefs, petitions, and emergency motions in the Supreme Court of Texas, the Texas courts of appeals, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and D.C. Circuits.

His work focused on high-stakes appeals defending Texas laws, government entities, and public officials, including merits briefing, en banc petitions, emergency motions, and amicus briefs. He also assisted in briefing emergency applications, petitions for certiorari, merits briefs, and amicus briefs in the Supreme Court of the United States. Coy clerked for Justice Rebeca A. Huddle of the Supreme Court of Texas and for Judge Emil J. Bove III of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is a graduate of St. Mary's University School of Law, where he was an Articles Editor and Staff Writer for the St. Mary's Law Journal, and of Texas A&M University. He is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third, Fourth, Fifth, and D.C. Circuits.
